[EHON] KITAO KEISAI MASAYOSHI. (CHO^JU^; JINBUTSU; SANSUI) RYAKUGA-SHIKI 3 vols. To^kyo^, Yoshikawa Ko^bunkan, n.d. [1890s?] String-bound, Japanese- style, fukuro-toji. Original blind-patterned green cobvers with printed paper title labels. 24.7 x 18.2 cm. These three color-printed woodblock versions of the famous Raykugashiki by Keisai Masayoshi still retain their original Kansei and Bunka colophon dates, along with the Yoshikawa additions. My supposition would be that the hangi blocks were in the hands of Ko^bunkan for a while in mid to late Meiji before being taken over by Unso^do^, who issued several printing all through the 20th century. We have handled several printings by Unso^do^, but this is the first Yoshikawa Ko^bunkan version we have handled. The Landscape [SANSUI] volume has some foxing, the other two are clean in and out. As the poriginal blocks were quite bold, they have held up well, without loss of much detail. y goood condition. Click here for full details of this book, to ask a question or to buy it on-line.
